The last talk of the day was given by Dr. Anup Som, an Assistant Professor in the Centre of Bioinformatics Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Allahabad. He talked in detail about the scope and opportunities in the field of Bioinformatics. He explained in detail about the Bioinformatics programs available in India. He shared his own experience of working in different countries, shedding light upon the bright future of Bioinformatics in the upcoming years. He patiently answered the students' queries regarding the skills development to work in the field of life sciences. He further spoke in detail about the course curriculum of Bioinformatics in foreign universities.

    The first speaker of the event was Dr. R. Preethi. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Crystallography and Biophysics at IIT, Madras. Her lecture was themed around the mechanism of Sigma factor-cin promoter interaction in Group A Streptococcus using In Silico approach. She spoke in detail about Group A Streptococcus infections and its ability to establish as a successful human pathogen. Her innovative lecture enlightened the attendees with a novel methodology adopted for studying the mechanism, which revolves around the mechanism by which the Bacteria alter gene expression in response to environmental changes. Her talk shed light on the importance of studying Group A Streptococcus and its ability to cause a wide spectrum of diseases.
