COMBIGS INAUGURATION - ALUMNI KEY SPEAKERS

COMBIGS- Computational Biology Group at SASTRA (Students association of Bioinformatics) for the academic year 2019-2020 was inaugurated on 8 thJuly 2019 at JVC auditorium, SASTRA with a devotional prayer. The new incumbent office bearers of the association- Sai prashanth N B(Chairman), Veeraraghavan V (Vice Chairman), Jayananth P (Treasurer) etc. were introduced for the current academic year(2019-2020). Student association (COMBIGS) was then declared open by the staff coordinator, Dr A. Sathya jointly with the staff treasurer, Dr L. Ramya. It was a proud moment to have two alumni of SASTRA as guest speakers at the occasion. Mr. Pradeep Eranti, graduate research assistant at the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology and Mr. Dinesh Kumar, a PhD graduate student at the Pusan National University, Korea engrossed the audience with their “Down to Earth” student participatory discussions and motivating “On the Job” experiential talks. About 150 students of 2 nd , 3 rd and final year students of Bioinformatics along with sagacious staff members participated in this function enthusiastically. The then staff coordinator - Dr K. Saraboji and the then staff treasurer Dr N. T. Saraswathi of the COMBIGS during 2013-2019 were felicitated and honoured during the inauguration function.
